Isay is an investor at Outset Ventures, having joined the team from her home state of California. She works across investment origination, diligence, and portfolio support, with a particular focus on frontier and deep tech opportunities.

Prior to Outset, Isay was an investor at Toyota Ventures, where she led early-stage investments across energy, robotics, food and agriculture, fintech, and biotechnology. In addition to direct investments, she also made LP investments through the firm’s fund-of-funds vehicle, giving her exposure to a broad range of venture strategies and managers.

Isay’s investing experience is complemented by a strong technical background as an ocean roboticist. She was a Fulbright Scholar in South Africa serving as an engineer-in-residence, where she designed pocket satellite tracking systems for sharks and sea turtles. She has authored research papers on low-cost autonomous technologies and AUV/ROV power solutions for deep sea research.

Isay graduated from New York University and studied abroad in Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Argentina, and Spain, reflecting her globally oriented perspective and curiosity across disciplines.

Outside of work, Isay enjoys trail running and surfing along the coastlines of California and New Zealand. She is also passionate about designing prosthetics for terrestrial and marine wildlife rehabilitation, bringing her engineering mindset to conservation-focused applications.
