Isay is an investor at Outset Ventures, having joined the team from her home state of California. She works across investment origination through diligence, portfolio support, and U.S. syndication, with a particular focus on frontier and deep tech opportunities. Prior to Outset, Isay was an investor at Toyota Ventures, where she led early stage investments across energy, robotics, agriculture, fintech, and biotechnology. Her past investments include Avalanche Energy, Burnbot, Living Carbon, Alora, e-Zinc, Zymochem, Syzygy Plasmonics, and Zeti, which have gone on to raise US$350M in follow-on capital and are collectively valued at US$1.3B. In addition to direct investments, she also made anchor LP investments into first time fund managers through ​Toyota's fund-of-funds vehicle. These firms now hold US$1.2B under management.

Isay’s investing experience is complemented by a strong technical background as an ocean roboticist. She was a Fulbright Scholar in South Africa serving as an engineer-in-residence where she developed pocket satellite tracking systems for shark and sea turtle research. She has authored papers on low-cost autonomous technologies and AUV/ROV power solutions for deep sea exploration in collaboration with world-renowned oceanographic institutes. Isay continues to serve as a technical advisor for two AUV missions in the Indian and Atlantic oceans.

Isay graduated from New York University on a full-ride scholarship with a degree in environmental data science, and studied abroad in Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Argentina, and Spain. Outside of work, Isay enjoys weightlifting, trail running, and surfing along the coastlines of California and New Zealand. With close ties to nature as a native Northern Californian, Isay also develops orthotics and prosthetics for both terrestrial and marine wildlife rehabilitation.
