Jess is a General Partner at Outset Ventures, where she co-leads the investment team and works closely with founders from first capital through to scale. She partners with technical teams on commercial strategy, capital planning, and governance, bringing discipline and long-horizon thinking to complex, high-conviction businesses.

Jess joined Outset in 2024 following more than a decade in private markets investing and corporate finance. Prior to Outset, she was a Portfolio Manager in Direct Investments at the New Zealand Superannuation Fund, where she held lead responsibility for global portfolios spanning infrastructure, forestry, and technology, managing assets in excess of US $1bn and executing transactions across buy-side, sell-side, and active asset management contexts.

At NZ Super, Jess led strategy, origination, and execution across her portfolios. Her experience spans direct investments, fund-of-fund investments, and complex stakeholder environments involving boards, government and regulatory bodies, indigenous groups, and international partners.

Jess brings deep expertise in commercial and capital strategy, with particular strength in working alongside highly technical teams to translate complexity into investable, scalable business models. 

She currently serves on the boards of Kelvius and Aurogenic. Outside of work, Jess enjoys reading and cycling, and spending time with her family.
