Earlier, he held senior technical and operational roles across bioscience and engineering, including leading R&D field trials at BioConsortia.
Formally trained in Chemical and Materials Engineering and Biotechnology, Mat brings over 25 years’ experience at the intersection of science, engineering, and commercialisation. He serves on the board of Reactory and is a member of the Auckland Mayor’s Tech and Innovation Alliance. Mat is known for translating complex science into scalable companies and working hands-on with technical founders at the earliest stages.
Outside of work, he enjoys running, getting outdoors, nerdy conversations, and exploring new parts of the world with family and friends.
